1937 Willys Mojave Vortex
A work in progress started in Jan. 2010. Purchased at a yard sale and stored at a friends house for over 8 years. I was finally ordered to move it or watch it get hauled away. Although it was rusty, faded and bullet ridden, it had beautiful lines.

almost done, but the doors?
An interesting story here about a car that had been dismantled and strewn about the desert over 25 years ago and somehow found its own pieces and put itself back together again.

original car and 4 wrong doors
This was the original car, with 4 wrong doors. Well actually, at this point I was almost finished with the car. I had painted it a nice sage green, with purple accents at the bullet holes. People would ask, don't you wish you had the rest of the car?

front end , with hood found
Actually, I was happy to have what I did, until someone drove by to ask if I wanted an old front end sitting in his yard. Don't know what it is, but it's about the same age. Front end, 2 doors and a trunk lid, from this same car!

still missing 2 doors
Decided to repaint the car orange and use the 2 remaining wrong doors.I was convinced the last 2 were still to be found, but when? A friend came by who lives near where the pieces were found. I told her I was convinced there were 2 more doors around.

last two doors
She lowered her head, does that mean you want our doors? What? I said. Yes, Steve and I found 2 green doors out in the desert about 5 years ago,I think they're yours. Yes hard to believe, but all true. More later.
